Cool Play: Strawberry Swing

Yes, it is Coldplay. No, I'm not a big fan, but I thought this video was really clever, some great perspective and intricate animation. It does beg the question... How much was post-production?

Also, it made me wonder what would be possible if we just incorporated some of the outstanding work by Julian Beever:

The Descent 2

I loved the first film, written and directed by our very own Neil Marshall. But this new, down with the kids, text speak version... 'The De2cent', has got a lot to prove.

This is Jon Harris's first directorial outing as far as I know, although he has had a hand in a couple of my past film favourites (Editor on Snatch, Layer Cake and of course The Descent). I am reliably informed that Mr Marshall will keep a keen eye over the production and also throw in a few ideas, but it's not his film.
Shame.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side

BBC have started their twisted nature series 'Walk on the Wild Side'. Jason Manford and a host load of others lend their vocal talents to vast array of different animal species. It's as if Nick Park and David Attenborough had somehow mated and produced a TV series instead of a child.

Here's a taster. (not of the conception)

Enjoy!!!
Personally, I haven't stopped laughing.

I don't think that this is the best movie mash-up or piss-take trailer, but I'd like to see you try it!

Please send your mash-up attempts to www.youtube.com.
If they're any good, I'm sure we'll see them.

Now... lets-a-go!

Put Pockets

Talk talk went to the streets earlier this month to prove you CAN get something for nothing. Their objective was to put money back into the pockets of Britons everywhere, LITERALLY! They challenged 20 ex-pick pocketers to sneak money into the pockets of the unsuspecting public.
Fun and for a good cause, I am impressed.

Check out the promotional video and more information here.

Bangers and Mash Machine's

This article in the times really tickled me, unfortunately not everyone saw the funny side.

P.S. John Strachan, 52, an IT worker from Dundee, can suck my balls!
Unfortunately after selecting Cockney over the more traditional and familiar English language, Poor John discovered he did not understand the prompts on screen, so (amazingly) failed to enjoy the experience. He has recently complained about not understanding the Chinese on the back of a bean tin and the Lithuanian language selection on facebook.

Tracy's legendary 'love-cave'

AWESOME!
Anyone already thinking of searching her friends out to make one of many seedy comments, don't bother, I don't think Tracy lives their anymore.

Augmented Gaming is undead

This mobile app allows users to observe a well rendered 3D environment and blast the shit out of Zombies.
'Arghh', created by Augmented Environments Lab, is an AR game that allows users to view and interact with a 3D environment through their camera phone (unfortunately not many platforms can handle this yet as it was built for the Tegra). Users can blast zombies and even place ironically sweets treats on the map, to further destroy the already dead.

Awesome!
Can't wait to see what other monsters are being created in the A E Labs.

AVATAR

James Cameron's Avatar is to be released on December 18th and to celebrate the release of the official trailer...
We're going Avatar crazy!!!!

I can't say that I like the trailer, but the movie looks amazing!

As well as going 3D, Avatar has also gone digital, covering more digital channels than it can possibly handle:
Official Site
Apple trailer
twitter
YouTube
facebook
Myspace
flickr
And there's more!!!
(I think they may just be distributing their Tweets through multiple channels.)

So prepare to enjoy AVATAR!
(Not to be confused with 'Avatar: The last Airbender' which M. Night Shyamalan will be releasing next summer, also looks cool.)

Top of the pots

It's taken me at least 3 days to post this, so I'm not trying to write anything clever. I'm not even going to post a picture, just play!
